accomplishments to date.
Although my parents are originally from Trinidad, I grew up in Toronto, Canada – a multicultural city where little Italy meets the heart of Chinatown.
Having spent time on the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts Dance Team and flipping for the National Basketball Association’s Toronto Raptors, I had definitely developed an incomparable love for performing.
Dreams are illustrations from the book your soul is writing about you. After watching the Fitness Canada Pageant on television, I decided to volunteer at the 2002 National Fitness and Bodybuilding show in Toronto to learn exactly what was involved in competing in such an amazing sport. It was there that I had an opportunity to meet competitors as well as trainers while learning the ins and outs of competitive fitness.
One year later I made my fitness debut…FAME Canada 2003 was it!
I had trained for seven months and dieted for four. I had no idea that my body was capable of such an incredible transformation. With the support of my “fitness partner in crime”, my trainers and most importantly my family, I was ready for the stage.
Competing against over 200 women in the International Model Search and 10 Fitness Canada Pageant hopefuls my hard work definitely paid off with an 8th place finish in the model search and taking the Fitness Canada Centrals Championship. I was shocked, excited and very proud of my accomplishments.
What I thought would be a one time personal achievement, evolved into a pretty cool hobby. Fitness allows me to continue to challenge myself. With every competition I strive to make each appearance better than the last. I enjoy experimenting with training and nutrition to learn how my body can transform. It’s quite amazing how with hard work, determination and passion, you can achieve things you had previously only dreamed of!
